Jump in for a Crochet and Charcuterie night!
​
Bring a finger food or cheese to share and we'll sit around like a few old crones and crochet! This is a great group to meet new friends. Whether you're a seasoned pro or so new you don't own a single crochet hook yet, this night is sure to lift your spirits and get connected with encouraging women in the Murfreesboro area. (Some crocheter's bring wine or something similar - just a heads up if alcohol is something you're not comfortable around).
Sourdough Bread Baking Classes

Have you got a hankerin' for gut healthy bread and traditional skills?
These classes are geared toward adult home cooks ranging from those who have at least made a batch of cookies to those who want all their technical bread questions ironed out.
I start off by teaching a basic sourdough recipe and go through how to elevate your craft as time and interest from each class allows.
Some people treat this as a bake & sip class and alcohol may be present. Mature teens are welcome with supervision but this class is not for children.

Beginners and non-creatives: this is your sign to try something fun and new! These paint and sip classes are led totally step by step with lots of encouragement and good humor!​

Break out of the mold and grab a few friends or a hot date and make your way to one of my paint classes hosted at my studio on the west edge of Murfreesboro.

If you have creative kids but a lack of bandwidth for the mess and expense small one-off projects tend to generate, you might be interested in a new event I'll be hosting.... drum roll please... introducing Open Studio Craft Palooza for kids! I'll be opening the Mossy Boot Studio and sharing a large range of supplies and tools for creative freestyle projects.

Children must be supervised and directed by a responsible adult. Everyone helps clean up their own work area.

Are you totally freaked out at the thought of having a conversation about the Gospel with friends, family and strangers? I used to be too! If I'm honest it still makes me a bit uncomfortable, but since absorbing the information and techniques this class offers, it feels so much more natural and easy to bring up Jesus and the Good News.
​
This is an informal class on Saturday mornings where you and your family learn and practice sharing with other Christian believers. Kids are welcome to come play or sit in to learn alongside the adults.
​
​My husband David and I lead this class with selected lessons from the book "The School of Biblical Evangelism: 101 Lessons" from Living Waters' Ministry. We align with the basics of the Baptist Faith and Message statement but all stripes of believers are welcome to attend!​

ABOUT THE MOSSY BOOT
Hi! I'm Caitlin Newkerk - wearer of all the hats at The Mossy Boot Studio
​My passion for creating beautiful, and useful things flows from the happenings of everyday life here in Murfreesboro Tennessee. As a homeschool mom of 3, health enthusiast, nature lover, and life long artist, many of my personal projects seem to be the kind of thing other people want a piece of as well. So enter The Mossy Boot Studio and Boutique!

If you're a lover of handcrafted, local arts, crafts, and home goods, then you'll feel right at home visiting my studio-shop. If you're one to appreciate DIY fun, healthy foods & herbs, learning a variety of new skills, homeschool, or Jesus, we will make good friends. So you should hop into one of my classes or come visit one of my free events!

I love to teach and encourage, especially for those who struggle with confidence when trying their hand at something creative. Trepidation is such a universal experience when it comes to new skills so it's such a joy when I get to help someone discover the secret keys to unlocking confidence with a new technique or skill. That's where my classes shine! I want to make your day!
​
I also love to host and plan parties - you know, in my spare time - haha! But for reals... if you're in need of a really unique birthday, bachelorette, or team event, I'd love to help make it happen. Parties are the stuff of life when we can throw off some of the regular cares and instead celebrate while enjoying each other's company. I love to help set the stage for it all!
​
Lastly, (really firstly) and most importantly, I'm a Christian wife and mother. It's my first passion to share how good God has been to me and share the Good News about Jesus. I'm no longer ashamed, enslaved, or far from God thanks to what Jesus has done for me on the cross! My husband David and I will be hosting a series of Evangelism classes on how the heck to share your faith when it feels terrifying and unnatural. I'm sooo looking forward to this free class for families and individuals!

I really have trouble settling on just one thing because the world is so full of fun and exciting adventures to share. So as long as I am able, I'll be hosting, teaching, creating, and dreaming away.
​
